Dear Potential Friendship FYI Crew Members,
If you answered “yes” to any of the questions above, then Friendship FYI is the answer for you! FYI is a student-run club that meets regularly. Our job is to produce the Friendship morning announcements television broadcast. There are many jobs (each with unique responsibilities) to get FYI “on the air”. Take a look at the job descriptions below. If you are interested and are reliable and responsible, see Mr. Benes in Room 344 or send him an email for more information. Hope to have YOU on our crew this year!
Mr. Benes
Job #1- Script / Prompter
- Get announcements off of email
- Check for staff birthdays and sports games
- Look over announcements (delete old ones, make sure dates are correct)
- Order the reading of the announcements
- Type new announcements into script (remember to change tenses)
Job #2- Assistant Director
- Arrange and get guest speakers ready
- Help with any last minute setup issues
- Lead the introductory “Good Morning, Firebirds” welcome (off camera)
- View announcements on “preview screen” to check audio/video feed
- At end of announcements, give cue to end the live-stream
Job #3- Technical Operations
- Check that lighting is set
- Arrange anchor desk and other chairs
- Check to make sure live “shot” is ready
- Check that lighting is set
- Arrange anchor desk and other chairs
- Operate Manycam program to edit the video/audio live feed
Job #4- News and Sports Anchors
- Before broadcast begins, pre-read announcements for pronunciations and spellings
- At start time, be ready to begin broadcast
- Good reader, clear pronunciation, happy attitude
