Portfolio Sharing Conferences - April 29th and April 30th
Our spring conferences will feature students, parents, and teachers in reviews of student portfolios. students will be “leading” the portfolio presentations. It will be an excellent opportunity for students to develop their leadership and communication skills. It will also be a time for parents to gain a greater understanding of student ability levels, subject area progress, and quality of work.
Parents and students will spend time in classrooms with all teachers. It will be a very relaxing format that will feature no bells or rushed meeting times. Families can spend as much time as they choose in each area and move on to the next classroom whenever they have finished reviewing the subject area portfolio. Teachers will be available in the classroom to supervise the student led presentations, While this is not an individual conference time, teachers will be able to meet briefly with each family at some point during the portfolio review.
We strongly encourage all families to participate in this evening,. Parents will definitely come away with a greater appreciation of student accomplishments. Teachers and parents will be able to work together to help students better appreciate the importance of hard work and the pride of accomplishing goals. Please select a time that works best for you (see attached form) and return the form to school. If you would like to schedule an individual conference with your child’s teachers, please call school to schedule this on a day other than Portfolio Sharing Days.
