Summer 2012 Reading Information

We Need Your Help!

Did You Know? Research in the areas of parent involvement indicates that parent participation is one of the greatest indicators of student success. Read what the experts say:

  • "Parent involvement provides valuable resources in terms of volunteer time and contributes to increased support for the school."
  • "Studies found that the academic achievement of low-income students in particular seemed to vary directly with the degree of parent involvement."
  • "Effective parent involvement correlates with students' earning higher grades and test scores." (National Institute of Education)
  • "Those schools that favor involvement of parents outperform schools with little parent involvement."
  • "On the basis of children's achievement and the overall quality of the school, those schools that have long-lasting and comprehensive parent programs are more effective than those without such programs."

PLEASE consider volunteering for at least one activity at our school. We have many opportunities from committees to supervising dances and Stay ‘N Plays, organizing vision and hearing screening, picture day, movie nights and some at home projects. Also, currently we are looking to create our PTO Board for the 2012-2013 school year. We need your help!

Friendship Jr. High is a great place for our students to learn. However, it is through our numerous special activities that our students are afforded the opportunity to make great connections with other students and our staff. These special activities would not be possible without the support from our parent volunteers.

It sends a great message to your student when you show an interest in their education through volunteering. Please consider joining our volunteer group today. Help us to improve the quality of your student's educational experience at Friendship Jr. High!

Our Vision

To increase success for all by providing a supportive environment and encouraging student, staff and parental involvement.
