Our vision is to increase success for all by providing a supportive environment and encouraging student, staff, and parental involvement.

Friendship Junior High is a 6-8 grade school located in Des Plaines, Illinois, a northwest suburb approximately 25 miles from Chicago. We serve a diverse student population of approximately 650 students, representing 22 different nationalities, who reside in portions of the City of Des Plaines and the Village of Mount Prospect.

In addition, the school employs 80 staff members. Friendship is one of three junior high schools in Community Consolidated School District 59 in Elk Grove Township. Our mascot, chosen by means of a student survey, is the Friendship Firebird. Friendship Jr. High offers well-developed scholastic programs, dedicated to helping Friendship students to achieve academic excellence. We have numerous after school sports, clubs, music, and fine arts opportunities and offerings.

Friendship is very proud of their student participation in before and after school activities. This participation truly makes Friendship a safe and comfortable atmosphere in which students thrive.

Friendship’s vision is: “To increase success for all by providing a supportive environment and encouraging customer and stakeholder involvement.” After graduation, Friendship students will continue the journey of learning at either Elk Grove High School or Prospect High School in District 214. Browse our web site and see what makes Friendship Jr. High not only a fine educational institution, but also overall one that continues to meet our building goal of “Striving For Success” for all of our students by providing “Quality Student Learning”.
